Aguman Kapampangan, a regional organisation of UAE-based
Filipino workers from the province of Pampanga, will officially launch its
website (www.aguman.com) on Sunday at the Metropolitan Palace Hotel on
Maktoum Road, Dubai,during the induction of its 15 new council
members.
Organised under the auspices of the Philippine
diplomatic mission in Dubai, Aguman represents a community with an
estimated 1,500 members in Dubai and Northern Emirates. The oath-taking of
its new executive council members, who will then choose the new officers
among themselves, will be administered by Philippine Ambassador to the UAE,
Amable Aguiluz III.
The group is a socio-civic club that helps raise
its members' awareness about the laws of the host country and conducts
skill enhancement programmes. Aguman, which means "association",
also helps the delivery of service and organises information campaign to
OFW members, said Rey Cauguiran, the outgoing Aguman Chairman.
The new council members who will serve one-year terms
are: Restituto Baluyut, Cherry Pye Zablan-Torres, Xavier Puno, Armando
Delgado, Leandro Hernandez, Danilo Tayag, Pelagio Baltazar, Joe Santiago,
Lorna Buan, Philip Yambao, Renato Miclat, July Marimla, Henry Vitug
